A Look Inside Ryan “The Brickman” McNaught’s Lego Factory

A Look Inside Ryan “The Brickman” McNaught’s Lego Factory

Lego Masters Australia is a TV series that allows Lego builders, from all around the country to show off their creations. It is hosted by Hamish Blake and judged by Lego designer Ryan “The Brickman” McNaught.

In 2015, Rees Construction Group completed a factory fitout for Ryan McNaught. The new fit out was designed to allow Ryan and his whole team to efficiently sort, build and produce multiple LEGO builds for exhibitions. The fitout included a new polished floor, intricate exhaust system, mezzanine, and brick sorting system.

Creating a new office for The Brickman was an exciting project for Rees. With the factory conversion theme, it was important to try and retain the feeling of a working factory to meet the LEGO brand brief; whilst making it comfortable and allowing the work areas to be open plan, so that the whole team could collaborate effectively.

During the planning stages of the project, one of the major issues that had to be addressed was airflow. The ventilation system needed to be powerful enough to cover every corner of the factory. Ensuring the factory was well-ventilated was an important task, due to the large amount of glue the LEGO Masters’ used to construct their creations.

Cam and the team had a ball completing this project for Brickman and we look forward to watching this season of LEGO Masters Australia.
